On Saturday evening at ’the residence of Mr. E. Herlihy they were farewelled by the residents at a social evening. Mrs. i. Wyatt .of the Little Wanganui was conveyed to Hokitika on Sunday last to obtain medical treatment. . Mesdames Kirby (2,) are on a visit to’ the North Island. ■Master M. Anderson who has been or a visit here for the past six months has returned to Auckland. i Nurse Duggan of the Westland Hospital staff is the guest of Mrs. J. Nolan. 1 Mrs. K. Patrick is on a visit to Christchurch. »„Mr. and Mrs. Hende paid a visit to Grevmouth last week.

Miss'E. Reid of Wataroa has taken up her residence here. Mr. McEwan, Health Inspector, of Hokitika, paid a visit here last week. Miss P. Rowley is on a visit to Christchurch. Mr. L. Peterson has left on a visit to Invercargill. Mr. Tom Whiteman of the local hotel staff is the guest of Mr. Jack Cooper at the Saltwater. It Is Tom’s intention to do some deepsea fishing whilst in the locality. .
