Opera House “ONE NIGHT OF LOVE.” Grace Moore’s glorious voice is of course largely responsible for the success of “One Night of Love” now showing at the Opera House. The metropolitan opera star plays what is virtually her life story, and into this is woven, beautiful melody which will please a li tastes. The theme song “One Night of Love” has been on everybody’s lips (since it was first sang), the enchanting Neapolitan air “ Ciri Bivi Bin” has also leapt in popularity since Miss Moore first sang it in the film, Bizet’s “Habanera” from “Carmen.” She sings in a captivating manner; "The Last Rose of Summer” and the aria “One Fine Day” from “Madame Butterfly” will delight even the most rabid low brow and send the high brow into ectasies for the sheer beauty of treatment. So much and so little from a star of such beauty, charm and talent. She has with her a splendid cast which includes Tull io Carminati, Lyle Talbot, Luis Alberni, Mona Barrie, Jessie Ralph. Regent Theatre Now Showing: “Appointment in Berlin', '* starring! George and Marguerite Chapman. Columbia’s “Appointment in Berlin,” the new and exciting spy drama now showing at the Regent Theatre brings to the screen an entirely different and unusually dramatic version of the machinations of the shrewd and adventurous members of modern spy rings. George Sanders, British actor, noted for his outstanding performances in the “Saint” series is costarred with Marguerite Chapman. Sanders plays the part of an R.A.F. commander who purposely falls into disgrace in his own country in order that he may ingratiate himself with a powerful Nazi group. Marguerite Chapman’s role is an unusual one in that she is a beautiful German; girl who must win the sympathy of her audience. .Her refutation of the Nazi party, her love for the British agent, and the discovery that the latter has outwitted the Germans lead to a highly dramatic finish. The excellent supporting .cast is headed by Gale Sondergaard .and Onslow Stevens.
