NGAHERE STOCK SALE. The National Mortgage and Agency Coy. Ltd., report: There was a fainy large entr-v of cattle and several lines of sheep offered to a fair attendance of buyers at the Ngahere sale on Wednesday.. Competition was not as keen as at the previous sale and several lines of fat and store cattle were passed in not reaching; the vendor’s reserve. The three pens of sheep yarded were disposed of at satisfactory prices. The following- is a list of our principal sales:—A/c. Messrs Hill Bros. 50 M.S. Hoggets at 255, 24 ewes with lambs at 11s 6d all counted, 1 heifer at £lO 17s 6d and 1 steer at £lO 2s 6d. A/C. Mr. Fred Donovan, 1 fat bullock at £l4 17s 6d, 2 heifers at £ll 17s 6d. UNION S.S. CO. ' WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. The Union Steam Ship Compa? c advises that the accounts for the year ended September 30 were considered bv the directors at their monthly meeting at Wellington on December 1. The volume of traffic handled durin~ the period compared favourably with the previous year’s record, but owin'- to continued heavy 'iterating costs it was again decided to pass a dividend on ordinary shares. A final dividend of 2? ner cent, for the half year, making 5i- per cent, for the year, on preference capital was declared.
