A well-known Awapuni trainer, Doc Knapn. who came over on Monday from Riccarton, on a visit to his brother. Mr. G Knapn. took the opportunitv while in Greymouth to have a look over the Omoto course. Along with him were young Williamson. a well-known jockey, who visiting relatives at Omoto, and Dill Edwards, who drove them out. Bor. anneared to be favourably >mpressed with Omoto, and with f acJities offering for the training of horses. Thev also discussed with the Cluos caretaker the conditions prevailing at the West Coast race meetings and Doc informed him that, even -f he could not himself come for the coming fixtures, he would send some thing to the West Coast to It is some vears since any of m charges has raced on the West Coast.
