DEATH OF SIR T. ALLEN. (Rec. 10.40) ■ LONDON, Nov. 26. The death has occurred of Sir Thomas Allen, at the age of 79 years. A native of Abertillery, in Monmouthshire, he was a notable figure in the sphere of co-operative enterprise. He was knighted in 1919. He was formerly Director of the Co-operative Wholesale Society; Chairman of fhe Co-operative Insurance Society; Chairman of the New Zealand Produce Association; Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Co-operative ' Congress; and' a member of the Executive of the International Co-operative Alliances.
