ALLIED CONVOY

Heavily Attacked BY GERMAN ’PLANES. (Rec. 11.0.) LONDON, Oct. 22. German Dornier aircraft, equipped with new radio-controlled glider bombs, participated in a formidable attack on an Allied convoy off the North African coast. Torpedo-carry-ing Heinkels made up the rest of 25 attacking bombers French pilots of the Coastal Air Force, however, completely broke up the attack, shooting down at least three and severely damaging four German 'planes. . The Germans claimed that they have seriously damaged eight large ships, but the R.A.F. Headquarters stated that nothing like that number were damaged.
