Mr. J. Campbell left by air on return to Wellington yesterday. Messrs R. Mitchell and D. Mcßae left yesterday for Wellington, to attend a Communist Party Congress.
Mr. E. Cholerton, Managing Director of Procters, opticians, Christchurch, arrived in Greymouth last evening.
Mr. S. D. Munn, Assistant Traffic Manager, Railway Department, will arrive from Christchurch this morning.
Mr. J- Binstead, Locomotive Engineer, Railway Department, will arrive from Christchurch by this morning’s rail-car
A London cable records the grave illness of Admiral Sir Dudley Pound, who recently resigned from the Navy. A later message stated that he had died.
Traffic Inspector J. W. Richards, Transport Department, Greymouth, will leave on transfer on promotion to New Plymouth early next month and will be succeeded by Inspector j. Ramsay of Christchurch.

Mr. W. Davies will leave on Wednesday to take up an appointment as Assistant-Superintendent of the Invercargill Swimming Bath. Mr. Davies has been caretaker of the Greymouth Municipal Swimming Bath for the past 14 seasons.

Honey; Cobden, Mr. R. Pepperell; Karoro, Mrs. Pearn; Secretary, Miss J. Judkins; Treasurer, Miss V. Gilmore.
A British Official Wireless message states: Mr. Roosevelt has appointed Mr Philip D. Reed, who has been associated with Mr. Harriman in London during the past year, to be chief of the United States Mission of Economic Affairs in London, with the rank of Minister, in succession to Mr. Harriman.
Rev. T. G. Campbell of Kaikorai (Dunedin) was given a unanimous call at a congregational meeting of the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday evening, presided over by Rev. K. Hadfield (interim-Moderator). Those present signed the call which, when complete, will be dealt with by the Westland Presbytery for forwarding to the Dunedin Presbytery.
