Racing and Trotting Good Record: With two wins to his credit in his two outings to date this term, Glenfalloch is building up a line record for hiipself. In both.nstances he has had' little to spare, for he took the Hastings Handicap from Aqueduct by half a head, and at Otaki on Saturday squeezed home from Nightray' by a head only. The son of Kincardine and the Colossus mare Memmon is a bold galloper, yet he gave the impression that he is susceptible to still further improvement. As he was going on with it at the close on Saturday he must enter into the discussions for the Wellington Handicap to-morrow. Next Time Out: Canister was a strong tip for the Hadlow Trot at T’imaru. but failed at the finish in the heavy going. Canister is from a stable that does not miss a win very often when starting a fancied horSe. He should be worth watching at his next appearance. Man’s Pride Unlucky: Two south-ern-bred horses in Joseph Conrad and Man’s Pride fought out the finish of the Opaki Trial Stakes at the Masterton meeting with the honours going to the former. However, in view of the ground Man’s Pride had to make up he was a shade unlucky in being beaten by a neck by the Night Raid gelding. Incidentally, Joseph Conrad had shown a good turn of speed at Riccarton in August and there was strong support for him last Saturday. Promising: Levbourne, who had shown a good turn of speed at his first outing for the season at. tne Otaki meeting, made a bold effort to win the maiden race at the Mas-■-erton fixture. By Croupier from Hine Ra, the latter being from itnoorted Bonny Dawn, he looks a likely improver. Early Arrivals: Jimmy Wharton, Horatio Nelson, Wee Logan and Lockheed arrived at Victoria Park yesterday morning. All are in fine fettle, especially Jimmy Wharton, who has filled out a lot since last seen here, when he was a good second to Flying Scott in a similar class to that which, he is engaged in tomorrow.
