HARIHARI NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent.] Dvr. G. Berry has spend leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Berry. Mrs. H. Schroder and family, of Hokitika are spending a few weeks' holiday with Mrs. Schroder’s parents; Mrsi E. Kirby was a visitor to Hokitika last week.
Drivers E. P. and P. P. Kirby have arrived home from overseas on furlough for one month. Miss N. Roman, physical instructress for primary schools, was a visitor to the district last week
Private A. Lynisy is spending leave here as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. L-. Robertson. <
Miss M. Connelly, who had been the guest of Mrs. F. Aldridge, has now left on return to Lower Hutt.
Driver and Mrs. A. McMillan and daughter arrived here on Sunday last to spend a few days’ holiday. Driver McMillan is on leave. Mr. R. Frederic of Hokitika, paid a brief visit here during the weekend.
Huge consignments of whitebait have teen transported from both the Big and Little Wanganui Rivers during the past week. Many residents are very anxious to know when, the pile of bitumen is going to be removed from the front of the Public Hall. It has been left there for a considerable time now and many people have had the misfortune of meeting with accidents owing to it being very hard to distinguish at night. ■ Mr. D. Roberts of Evans Creek, has returned home from a visit to Christchurch. Mrs. R. Cox of Hokitika is spending a few days in the district. Mrs. T. Whall and daughter have left on return to Christchurch, from a visit here as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W- Berry. On Wednesday next the annual Spring sale is being held at Wataroa.
