P.A. ASHBURTON, July 16. Flying Officer David Barnes, R.N. Z.A.F., of Timaru, has been selected as the official Labour candidate tor Mid-Canterbury. Flying Officer Barnes was the member oi Parliament for Waitaki from 1935 to 1938. INVERCARGILL. July 16. Lower Hutt, a firm operating on a cooperative basis, the drivers sharing in the profits. As an amateur boxer. Croft won the Wellington provincial middle-weight and welter-weight titles in 1930, and also the Canterbury amateur middle-weight.
