INTER-SCHOOL GAMES
A party of two basketball and one Rugby team from the Greyjnouth Technical School travelled to Westport on Friday to play Westport Technical School teams. The Greymouth teams were under the charge of Miss M. E. Ray and Mr. F. A. Wicks. The teams were billeted out for the night and were entertained to lunch on Saturday. The games were played on Saturday morning. In the basketball, played on grass courts, the Westport A team defeated Greymouth A 18 goals to 13, while Greymouth B defeated Westport B by 11 goals to 9. The Rugby match was a walk-over for Greymouth, the score being in the vicinity of 51 points to nil. The Greymouth team, both out-weighed and out-played Westport.
The weather held for both matches. The teams returned to Greymouth ny Saturday afternoon’s rail-car. The visit was the resumption of annual matches, which have lapsed for several years.
