LAMPEDUSA LANDING
BRITISH VERSION RUGBY, June 9. It is officially announced at Malta that our light surface forces carried out a coast reconnaissance on Lampedusa Island on June 6 and 7, and suffered no damage or casualties though two of the landing party did not return. Second Allied Attempt TO SEIZE LAMPEDUSA. . LAust. & N.Z. CabL Assn.] (Rec. 9.30) LONDON, June 10. The Rome radio says: There has been a second Allied attempt to seize the island of Lampedusa. It was repulsed with heavy losses.
