B. C. LEE’S APPEAL DISMISSED

CHRISTCHURCH, June 9. The appeal of B. C. Lee, of Timaru owner of Premier Royal, against the decision of the New _ Zealand Trotting Association in disqualifying him for five years and fining him £lOO and disoualifying all horses owned by him for five years, has been dismissed by the Appeal Judges. Lee was charged that, as owner of Premier Royal, he corruptly entered into an arrangement with 1. H. Gunning, trainer of t he horse, that the horse should not.be a Uier hi tlie Otipua Handicap at. the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting on April 10, 1943, and that he was at the said meeting guilty of misconduct, inasmuch as' he assaulted T. I'l. Gunning. - A. statement of tlie Appeal judges decision sav.S: “The judges are unanimously of the opinion that Ino appeal of E. C. Lee against Jhe decision of the New Zealand irott'iig Association be dismissed, and that, the penalties imposed by the association bo confirmed.
