Mr and Mrs S. Dando have left for Wellington.

Mr M. J. Burton has been transferred to the Public Works Department, Greymouth, from the Dunedin Office.

Passengers -by plane for Wellington yesterday included Miss lyacK and Mr Davy. To-day’s passengers include Miss D. Barrell and L.A.C. J. Orr.

Rev. Mr Ward, of Takaka, has accepted a call to the Church of Christ. Hokitika, and will take up his duties on August 1. Mr Ward succeeds Hey. R. Marshall, who will leave at the end of this month for Gisborne.

The death occurred at Merredin, West Australia on May 30 of 'Mr Henry Jones Hornby. Mr Hornby was 73 years of age and was a brother of Mrs W. R. Kettle, of Lower Hutt and formerly of Greymouth. He was a journalist and had experience on many New Zealand and Australian newspapers. Six years ago he paid a visit to Greymouth.

The death occurred at Hokitika on Thursday, of Mr. William Francis Ibbotson, aged 41 years. Mr. Ibbetson, who was born in Southland, had been on the staff of the Bank of New Zealand for the past 22 years. For the past 12 months he had Peen stationed at Hokitika and before that was at Reefton for four years. He was a ma'mber of Pacific Masonic Lodge, Reefton. He is survived by his wife, his mother, three sisters and two brothers.

The degth occurred yesterday afternoon at the Reefton Hospital o± Mrs. Mary Hamer’ of Totara Flat, aged years. Mrs." Hamer had been ill for the past two months. She was born, at Totara Flat and had lived there and at Ahaura all her life. Besides her husband, Mr. Pryce Hames,. sne leaves one son, Pr'yce (Totara. yiat), also one brother, Mr, T. Lees Clotara Flat) and one sister, Mrs. A. Bulman (Wellington). The funeral will take place to-morrdw afternoon at Ahaura.
