NONE AVAILABLE AT PRESENT. (Special to the “Argus.”.:)., ■WELLINGTON, May 20. The Minister of Transport (Hon. J. O’Brien), interviewed by an “Argus” reporter, stated that he had received information from the Supply Department that there are no gumboots obtainable in New Zealand, nor are any expected from overseas at any.definite date. Since the fall of Malaya one shipment of gumboots reached New Zealand, of approximately fourteen thousand pairs, and these were allocated to seamen, fishermen, miners, and farmers. Negotiations were now. in hand for further supplies, but it was problematical whether these will be forthcoming, the Minister added.
