RUNANGA NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) The Runanga Plunket Society held an evening recently, to farewell the Secretary, Mrs P. Outhwaite, who is leaving shortly to reside in Huntly, Mr Outhwaite having accepted a position there. The President (Mrs Timlin) on behalf of the Committee pesented Mrs Outhwaite with a Juglet . Vase and wished her the best of luck and happiness in her new home. Mrs Outhwaite suitably replied. Competitions, throughout the evening were w'on by Mesdames N-. Griffiths and Barker. The Runanga Patriotic Society acknowledges the following donations: Combined Convent and State Schools Coupon System £3O 13s 6d (3 collections); State S'chool Collection £1 14s; dance £1 17s 6d; Donations to soldiers’ gift parcels: Mesdames F. Oakley ss, R. Hambly ss, T. Bowes ss. Kaye ss, J'. Whitehead- ss, 2 at 2s 6d. Books? Mesdames Hassan, P. Aims, P. Pollock, R. Glover, K. Griffiths, A successful black-out trial was held at Runanga on Wednesday evening, it lasting from 7 to 8 o’clock.
