MISS RUSSIA CHOSEN. Miss Nola Gutberlet was chosen as Miss Russia at a meeting last night, of residents of the Brunner and Runanga Boroughs, the Grey County, and other’s. Mr E. W. Kennedy presided over an attendance of 40. The following Central Committee was chosen: Mr Eder, Mr J. Mulcare, Mr Mitchell, Mrs Kennedy, Mrs Johnston, Mrs Wright and Mr Harper. MISS BRITANNIA. ' Mr A. Sumner presided over a meeting of 60 persons held on Tuesday evening to further the candidature of Miss Britannia (Miss Joan Pearson). It was decided that Miss Britannia be known as the Public Service Queen. Convenors of sub-committees were appointed as follows: Raffles, Mr J. J’. Thompson; entertainments, Mr R. Ware; social functions, Mr H. Booth; shop day, Mrs Pearson. Executive Committee: Convenors with Chairman. Joint Secretaries (Messrs G. J. Hearn and T. Caldwell). Treasurer (Mr Smith), Mr W. H. Walmsley, Mr J. Duffy, and Mrs V. Mann. Mr Duffy was appointed Publicity Agent, with Mr C. Morel as assistant. The Princesses will be selected later.
