WEST CCUST UNION MEETS. The VVesi. Coast Rugby Union met last evening. Mr. T. Mclntosh presided and there were also present Messrs W. M. Stewart, A. M. Jamieson, F. W. Baillie. T. O’Donnell, H. Clifford, and O. McLean (secretary). The Canterbury Union wrote asking whether the West Coast Union would be playing representative fixtures this season and if so would it be prepared to play Canterbury on the King’s Birthday. It was decided to ask the Canterbury Union if it would be prepared to play ip Greymouth on that day. One application for admission to the code was recommended to be sent forward to the N.Z. Union lor approval. i Messrs Guy and Clifford were appointed the Union’s representatives to attend, the meeting next Monday to discuss the proposed formation of a Sports Council. Committees were elected ns follows: —Fixtures Committee: Messrs T .O’Donnell, A. M. Jamieson, and F. W. Baillie. Postponement Committee: Messrs T. p. Ryan, T. Mclntosh, and. F. W. Baillie. The following fixtures were set down for opening day next Saturday:—■ ■ Senior: Celtic v. Blaketown at Park No 1, 3 p.m. (referee. Mr. N. Eggleton); Star-United v. Hokitika at Hokitika. Third grade: Celtic v. Blaketown, at Park No. 1, 1.30 (referee Mr. J. Minchin); Cobden v. Technical at Technical ground, 1.30 (referee Mr. D. Hoggarth).
