FABRICS FOR N.Z.

BIGGER QUOTA FROM BRITAIN. P.A. . WELLINGTON, April 7. Commenting on the cabled announcement that special licences wer e being issued in Britain for the importation of. certain fabrics into New Zealand, the Minister of Supply (Mr. Sullivan) said that this followed a visit of a special representative to London to press for improved allocations of cloths. The previous quota, together with local production, was less than minimum needs. He hoped that additional allocations would meet requirements where there were shortages. These were particularly in men’s overcoats, working trousers, and babies’ and children’s wear.
