The funeral of the late Mrs Augusta Eleanora Martens took P^ ce at the Karoro Cemetery yesterday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. P. Kirkham. The funeral of the late Mr Albert Fensom, of Kumara, took place yesterday afternoon at the Karoro Cemetery. Rev. K. Hadfield, of Hokitika, conducted the service. Mr. J. Slack, of Christchurch, and formerly of Nelson Creek, will take over the Railway Hotel, Greymouth, this month from Mrs. Coffey, who has been licensee for the past ten years. Rev. and Mrs. E. O. Harding left yesterday for Nelson where Mr. Harding will be ordained priest on Sunday. They will be the guests of Bishop and Mrs. Stephenson. A London cable message states that the death has occurred of Mr. W. G. H. Gritten, M-P. The death occurred suddenly at Blackball yesterday morning, of Mr. George Reynolds, at the age of 53 years. He had. lived in the Blackball district for many years. Formerly engaged as a miner in the Blackball mine, for the past few years he had been employed by the Grey County Council. He. had been off work for some weeks as the result of an accident. Deceased ts survived by his wife, four sons, Henry, Thomas, Joseph, and George (all of Blackball), and five daughters, Mesdames N. Meadowcroft (Blackball), M. Dalziel, J. Dalziel (Nelson Creek) E. Blackmore (Bell Hill) and Miss E. Reynolds (Blackball/.
