U.S. UNEMPLOYED
REDUCED TO MINIMUM. (Rec. 9.5) WASHINGTON, April 3. The U.S. Census Bureau reports: Unemployed in the United States totalled one million on March 31. The total is approaching an “irreducible mintmuml/’ This figure compares with 3,600.000 last March and 10,983,000 in 1937. More than four hundred thousand workless persons have been absorbed in employment since the middle of February. These make the total labour force 50,000,000.
