BERLIN STATEMENT
“Record Number at Sea ,c> HINT OF DIFFERENT USES. [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] (Rec. 8.40.) LONDON, April 1. The Berlin radio declared: “A record number of U-boats are now at sea. Submarine construction in the last few months has gone up by leaps and bounds. U-boat packs are now described as ‘naval artillery directed by wireless.’ ” The radio added: Competent Berlin quarters, state: “This important arm of maritime warfare may. be used for other purposes than hitherto.”
