Opera House Now Showing: “Apache Trail” and “I Killed that Man.” Blood and thunder action is the keynote of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's “Apache Trail” now showing at the Opera House. The story centres around the feud of Tom Folliard (William Lundigan) and his outlaw brother. Peso Bill (Lloyd Nolan). Having lost his job as guard of the mail stage through one of his brother’s holdups, Tom manages to secure a position as manager of the Tonto Valley station, one constantly plagued by Apache raids. At the station lives Rosalia (Donna Reed), the daughter of the Spanish Cook. “I KILLED THAT MAN” Startling, different a shock-streak-ed mystery that pulls no punches and keeps you guessing every minute such is “I Killed that Man” starring Ricardo Cortez and Joan Woodbury now shewing at the Opera House. Every scene’s a shock in this sensation packed story of a murder com- | mitted right before the eyes of a roomful of crime experts and reporters and which we defy you to to solve until the final scene.
Regent Theatre FINALLY TO-NIGHT. NOW SHOWING. “Dr. Broadway,” starring Macdonald Carey and Jean Phillips. People may dread a visit to the doctor. They may hate to pay those doctor bills, but Hollywood has discovered that a leading role as a doctor in a. motion picture is a ticket to stardom for an actor. When Paramount signed Macdonald Carey to a contract following his success as a leading man with Gertrude Lawrence in “Lady in the Dark.” it cast about for a suitable picture in which he could make his debut. He was wanted for a role with Fred MacMurray and Rosalind Russell in “Take a Letter, Darling”, but the picture was still several months from starting and another picture was needed for the actor in the meantime. There were several pictures in which he could be used, but he was given the title role in “Dr. Broadway,” the story of a young physician who works along the colorful Broadway frontier.
