WAR IN CHINA
CHINESE CAPTURE TOWN CHUNGKING, March 29. The Chinese have recaptured an unidentified town on the south banx of the Yangtze, in Hupeh Province, and encircled the Japanese at a number of other points, in a series of successes which, according to a Chinese communique, have again exposed the Japanese base communications in Ichang to Chinese attack. The Japanese have suffered several hundred casualties near Kwajung. Severe fighting is going on near the Yunnan-Burma border.
JAPANESE SET BACK. RUGBY, March 29. The Chinese High Command stated to-day that a Japanese column operating in the Yunnan from Burma has been wiped out and two other columns repulsed.
