HEART WEAKER. BOMBAY, Feb. 18. Anxiety about Gandhi’s condition deepens. The medical bulletin States that his heart action is feebler. Four new official members of the Government were sworn in as members of the Central Assembly, when the Assembly met this morning. RIOT CASUALTIES. 8.0.W. RUGBY, Feb. 18. Mr Amery told the House of Commons that 1,028 persons lost their lives in connection with the disturbances in India from August 9 to January 30, and 3,215 were more or less seriously injured. Gandhi Failing DOCTORS' ANXIETY. (Rec. 11.50.) LONDON, Feb. 19. Gandhi’s condition is causing increasing anxiety. The Bombay Government has issued a bulletin, stating that, although Gandhi slept for nine hours he iS not refreshed or mentally alert. There is other evidence of euremia, which is progressive. His heart action is more feeble. Poona doctors carried out an exhaustive examination of Gandhi late to-day. They left the Aga Khan’s Palace looking worried. It is understood that Gandhi has shown no inclination to ‘ talk since this morning, and he is showing no interest in visitors. The Bombay Government, at present, is considering doctors’ reports.
