AIR FORCE BAND
VISIT TO GREYMOUTH. To stimulate interest in the Royal New Zealand Air Force recruiting, and to assist in the raising of Patriotic funds, the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will arrive at Greymouth on Saturday next for a stay of several days. The band is unique in the band history of New Zealand being the most ambitious and elaborate combination ever raised in the country, and naving raised the fine total of £lOO,OOO for patriotic funds by its endeavours. The bands mission Is three-fold being to promote .the recruiting lor the Royal New Zealand Air Force, the Women's Auxiliary Air Force and the Air Training Corps. The band is under the baton of Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill. Director of Music to the R.N.Z.A.F. Under his direction the band has established an unparallelled reputation for its musicianship, precision and deportment. Overseas critics have declared it far superior to many of its older established overseas contemporaries. Its attainments can be regarded as all the more meritorious in view of the frequent changes in personnel.
