(Our Own Correspondent) REEFTON, February 9. The Inangahua Patriotic Commitee have been advised that the Royal 'lew Zealand Air Force band will nsit Reefton on Monday February 18th, at 2.30, when a programme wiil >e' played l at the race course, and the -•and" will give a display of marching, n the evening a dance will be held n the Gymnasium Hall when the >and’s orchestra will provide the music. The many friends of Mrs. Topffer will be pleased to know that she has recovered from her sudden illness. At the bowling green on Sunday a doubles handicap was won by Messrs C. J. Willis and R. Wildermoth. The Westport Club are sending a team to meet the local players in a fortnight’s time. Members of the Reefton Fire Brigade are holding a social evening in the Band Room on February 27, to make a presentation to Fireman J. Eager who has completed 35 years service with the brigade. All the various local bodies have been invited to assist at the function. Mr. J. H. Carver and his daughter former Reefton residents are on a visit to the Coast. Mr. Carver will be remembered by the older residents as a storekeeper, and a bandsman.
