BRUNNER NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent* A meeting of the Brunner Picnic Committee was held last night in the Taylorville School, Mr T. Morgan presiding. Arrangements for the forthcoming picnic to be held at Cass Square, Hokitika on Saturday next, January 30, were finalised. A comprehensive sports nrogramme of thirty events was drawn up. Arrangements have been made for the provision of tea, sugar and milk. The train leaves Stillwater ;>t 9.50 a.m. and stops at all stations en route to Greymouth. The children of Dobson and Taylorville will receive their shillings at their respective schools on Friday evening at 5 o’clock. The annual meeting of the Grey Valley Medical Association was held in Dixon’s Rooms on Saturday night. Mr W. Richards presided. The balance sheet was received as satisfactory. The following officials were elected: President, Mr W. Richards; secretary, Mr W. Gutberlet; treasurer, Mr D. Kennedy; trustees, Messrs W. Purdy, M. Creagh and W. Coates; committee, Messrs A. Gutberlet, A. Robb, R. Hacker, R. Rothera, J. Burns, F. Creagh, T. Morgan, J. Dmkson and R. Butterfield; auditor, Mr Eric Souter. A vote of thanks was extended to Mr J. Harker, who relinquished the post of trustee which he has held for approximately 20 years.
~ 4d. ance held in the Tavlorville Pavillion under the auspices of the Brunner Concert Partv on Saturday night proved to be a success. A light sit-down supper was served, and Miss Watson supplied the music for dancmo-. The proceeds of the dance were for soldiers’ parcels.
