BLOOD TRANSFUSION. 8.0.W. RUGBY, Jan. 8. The King has given permission for the opening of a station taking blood for transfusion service in Windsor Castle. It will be in operation for some days, when members of the Royal household and other estate employees will give blood for the use of the armies in North Africa. LONDON, Jan. 9.

Each command has instituted holiday classes, at which schoolboys will spend about nine days. They take the same courses as the enrolled soldiers and the pay is a. nominal sum for living expenses. The boys parade at daylight and continue physical work or lectures until dark. They carry out the same exercises as the men, but without ammunition. Great emphasis is laid on the inculcating of leadership. The classes are stated to be most nopular and they will be continued during the school holidays throughout the war. Those boys attending will return to school and act as instructors during the term.
