There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting, of the Reefton Women’s Institute, held in the W.I. room, Mrs Yellowlees presiding. Word was received that Miss Robins, Home Science Tutor, will be visiting Reefton in December to conduct classes in dressmaking. Mrs Yellowlees read the report of the Federation meeting held in Greymouth. The roll call, “Emergency Meals for Unexpected Visitors,” proved that it was always fairly easy to make a tasty meal with very little preparation. The demonstration was “Ideas for Christmas Novelties.” The competition winners were: Organdie Posies, Mrs Duff 1; Mrs Harvey 2. Meat Pasties, Mrs Duff 1; Mrs Harvey 2.- The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Lawry and Mrs Hobbs.
