TRANSPORT STARTED.

(Rec. 10.23) WASHINGTON* Oct. 29. Mr Stimson, Secretary of War, said: "The entire Alaskan highway will now be open to traffic two weeks ahead of schedule. Motor trucks began this week moving supplies x. nd equipment to garrisons in the Fac’fic outpost, a distance of 1671 miles.” He said thousands of ’trucks would operate on the route all the winter, carrying soldiers and supplies to Alaska, and returning with vital materials.
