Subversion Charge ORMOND BURTON COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. P.A. WELLINGTON, October 7.' Three charges under the Emergency Regulations were" heard in the Magistrate's Court to-dav against Ormond Edward Butron, a formei’ Minister of Religion. He pleaded not guilty. He was committed to the Supreme Court for trial by Mr J. L. Stout, S.M,. ( He was charged with editing a bulletin of the New Zealand Christian Pacifist Society, with a view to facilitating the publication of a subversive statement; with attempting to publish a subversive statement and with publishing a subversive statement. The accused was admitted to bail in his own recognisance of £5O. SECRET SOMMISSIONS CHARGE. AGAINST A FIRM’S BUYER. P.A. WELLINGTON, October 7. Pleading not guilty in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. to a charge laid under the Secrecy Commissions Act, Colin Douglas McKenzie, aged 34, a former buyer for Woolworths (New Zealand) Ltd., was committed by Mr ff. L. Stout,. S.M., to the Supreme Court for trial. He was charged with corruptly accepting approximately sixty pounds, as a reward for buying from Robert Leeds Tasker. 2,139 yards of casement cloth for £267 7s 6d.
