HOKITIKA, October 7. At the Magistrate’s Court toi-day a plea of guilty was entered by Herbert Vroblefski (Mr. M. B. James) to charges of theft of stocks and dies valued at £5, the property of the Railway Department, and four motor tyres and eight tubes valued at £4O 2s on September 14, 1941, property of Baillie, Neville and Co; also damaging a Railway Department padlock, value 7s. He pleaded not guilty to. charges of being intoxicated while in charge ’of a car and to being on Sept. 23 in possession of 311 plugs of gelignite and four detonators, except for a lawful use. He was sentenced on each theft charge to three months’ (concurrent terms), and all other charges were dismissed, while the police withdrew a charge of receiving. Robert Huxford pleaded guilty to a charge of being illegally in possession on July 20, of a bicycle belonging to Percy Gibbons, and was fined £7, the bicycle to be returned Sergeant Brown, stated Gibbons had lived next to the defendant, but had gone away giving Huxford permission to use some of the things round the house, but not the bicycle. A search of Huxford’s house disclosed the bicycle, which defendant had altered, painting it blue and removing the front wheel. D Stevenson claimed from Harold Ashton Woods, £3 10s sd. Judgment by default, with costs 12s was given for plaintiff. < Eugene Paganmi tor riding a bicycle without a light, was fined 10s with costs 10s. At the Warden’s Court sea beach claims were granted to Elsie M. Wilkinson, J. Robert C. Wilkinson; a prospecting license to J. L. Sweeney.,
