RUNANGA NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent) Two debates were conducted at the 1 weekly meeting of the Runanga Debating Club on Thursday evening. The first was that, “After the pre'sent war, the only insurance against I war is for the Allied nations to constitute themselves the police force or the world.” Affirmative: Messrs J. Richmond, H. Webb and Ron. McTaggart. Negative: Messrs R. Bowman, R. McDonald, and W. Patterson. The second debate entitled, “The Allied Nations should at once open up a second military front in Europe,” was debated by Messrs J. O’Loughlin (affirmative) and A. Keown, F. Baxendale and S. Kennedy (negative). Criticisms of the debates were given by the leader, Mr. W. Wick.
