NORWEGIANS SHOT
FOR ATTEMPTING ESCAPE. (Rec. 10.30) LONDON, May 21. The Oslo radio stated, fifteen Norwegians were shot and two were sentenced to life imprisonment for attempting to go to England. Others were sentenced to ten or fifteen ’’oars for aiding the attempted escapes. SPIES SHOT IN SYRIA. (Rec. 10.30) 'BEIRUT, May 21. Four spies y/ere shot after military trial. Others were sent to prison for terms of from five to thirteen years. They were members ot a spy ring operating throughout the Levant. British and Free French co. operated in hunting for them.
