(Our Own Correspondent? , The customary service was held here on Anzac Day at the cemetery. Wreaths were placed on the Memorial Gates erected in honour of the local soldiers who fell in the last war. Sergeant W. McNab, is on a visit to Wataroa. „ Tr . , Drivers P. Kirby and E. Kirov, are also visiting their relatives in Harihari on leave. , Private . E. Black, of Evans’ Creek, is another soldier home on leave just now. , Private S. J. Kirby, spent the week-end leave at his home- here. Mrs. E. Millar, of Christchurch, is on a visit to her parents here, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, of. Grey,mouth, are visting the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Haddock, of Herepo. Mrs. H. Kidd, who is a patient at the Westland Hospital, is making good progress towards recovery. A sittiny of the Medical Board was held at Wataroa on Saturday. Of those who were examined from this district, all were passed as fit except one. Mrs. V. Berry, is spending a few days in the Hokitika district. Mrs. E. Kirby and Miss J. McNabb, paid a visit id Hokitika on Saturday. Mr. A. Robertson, of Pukekura, had the misfortune to cut his foot v.’hile at work last week. < Mr. C. Hende, has returned after visiting Greymouth. The annual meeting of the local branch of the Farmers’ Union will be held on Thursday evening next. At the annual meeting of the householders of Harihari, the following were elected as the School Committee:—Messrs W. Regnault (Chairman), H. Osmers (Secretary), R. McMillan, J. McKay and A. Searle.
