IN CANADA TO-DAY. NEW YORK, April 24. The Canadian Branch of the American Callup Roll Institute, after canvassing voters throughout «-anada, predicts a substantial majority for the Government in Monday s plebiscite concerning conscription. The Institute stated it found fiftysix per cent, said yes, and thirtylive per cent. no. MONTREAL, April 24. The sentiment among the French Canadians of this city against can " scription flared up in a street demonstration. It was made by three hundred students. It was broken up by large detachments of police. • Four were arrested during an attempt to converge on a merchant seamen’s depot, where British survivors and torpedoed ships aie quartered. ■
