WEDDING
SCANLAN—ROBERTS. The wedding of Dulcie Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Roberts, of Greymouth, and Cyril Leonard, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Scanlan, of Opua, Bay of Islands, took place at St. Paul’s Methodist Church Greymouth, on Saturday. Rev. A. A. Bensley performed the ceremony. Mr. W. Connolly presided at the organ, and during the ceremony Mr. N. Clarke sang “I’ll Walk Beside You.” The church was decorated in orange and lemon tonings, by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of magnolia satin, which was cut on slim fitting lines and fell to form a circular train. Her veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a sheaf of cream roses, asters, lily of the valley, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her sisters, Doris and Clarice, who were frocked alike in pale • green georgette, with nasturtium trimmings. They wore tanshaped head-dresses of green tulles relieved with nasturtium shades, and carried bouquets of Autumn tinted flowers and maidenhair fern. M’- Alex Smith was best man. A reception was held at Harker’s where Mrs. Roberts received the guests wearing an ensemble, in honey gold, with brown accessories. She wore a shoulder spray of Autumn tinted flowers. Mrs. Scanlan, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black frock, with black accessories, and a shoulder spray of red roses. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Scanlan left by the rail-car for Christchurch and Timaru, the bride wearing a pale blue suit, a blue halo, and a fur coat.
