WIN FOR COBDEN ■ In the only cricket match played at Greymouth yesterday, Cobden secured an outright win over Ma.'rist Boys’ High School in the semi-final of the Knockout Competition. School, batting first were all out for 50 run. L. O’Brien (10) being the only batsmen to make double figures. D. Knapp, bowling for Cobden, took 6 wickets for 16 runs and R. Pope 4 for 33. Cobden, in their innings, declared with five wickets down for 154 runs (A. Fletcher 47 not out, D. Knapp 34, R.. Pope 34, R. Lee 13 not out and J. Guy 10). R. O’Callaghan took all five wickets for 57 runs. In their second innings Marist were ail out for 55 runs (R. O’Callaghan 17 and A>. Kelly 11). Bowling for Cobden R. Lee took 4 for 22. Knapp 4 for 30 and Pope 2 for 2. CRICKETER Di,£S ON FIELD. P.A. CHRISTCHURCH, March 15. T. McClelland, a member of the Working Men’s Club senior cricket team, died suddenlv a few minutes after his innings against Beckenham on Saturday, and the match was immediately abandoned.
