JAP. ISLANDS
In Line of Attack
ALLIED THRUST FROM EAST.
(Rec. 7.30). WASHINGTON, March 30
American naval experts believe that, when the United Nations take offensive action against Japan, the main thrust will probably be westward, by way of Japanese Mandated Isiands in the Pacific, and across Japan’s supply lines, rather than northward. The experts base their view on a statement by Admiral Hart, pointing out that a flank attack is usually easier than a frontal attack.
