WOMEN’S WAR WORK
(Rec. 10.10). RUGBY, March 14. The Women’s Land Army is carrying out a campaign for recruits to meet rapidly increasing demands for rural labour. The Army’s present strength is twenty-five thousand, which is twice last year’s total. The Armv hopes for fifty thousand by the end of the year. The tasks that members are performing include tree felling, land-clearing, and the driving of heavy tractors and vehicles.
