INANGAHUA CAMP NOTES

Quite a gloom was cast over the community when it was learned that one of the most popular of the younger residents, Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth (Molly) Southon, wife of Mr. Garth Southon, had passed away in Reefton Hospital' following a very brief illness. A native of Runanga, she had resided for the past eight years at Inangahua Junction. Mrs. Southon, who had been married only six months, celebrated her 24th. birthday on March 2nd. She will be sadly missed bv a wide circle of friends, as her kindly disposition had endeared her to al’J, The sympathy of the community is extended to her husband, who is serving in a mobilisation camp, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Eyeington, of Inangahua Junction. She also leaves one brother. Mr. Stan Eyeington, of Rewanui. The internment took place in Reefton, the services at the Church and graveside being impresconducted by Rev. D. Evans. The hearse was covered with floral tributes, which testified the esteem in which the deceased was held. The pall l bearers were Messrs C. Sten•house, T. Biddulph, W. Williams and F. Deianey. There was quite a good attendance at the euchre last Saturday night in aid of patriotic funds. The euchre prizes were won by Mrs. H. Caidwell and Mr. Dave Ross., Consolation prizes were won by Mrs. R. Rooney and Mr. J. Moore. ■ Following supper, dancing was indulged in' until midnight, music being supplied by Mr. Fred Quaife, with extras by Miss E. Sheedey. Mr; Delaney acted as M.C.
