REEFTON, March R
Reefton is experiencing atrocious weather for this time of the yearFor the past three days showers have fallen intermittently. To-day the rain has been almost constant, with a fall in the temperature. Few would be surprised to find the hills covered with snow in the morning. Mr A. Bloxam, of Heathcote, is on a visit to Reefton. and is the guest of his daughter. Mrs W. J. Bolitho, jnf., Black’s Point. Mr Bloxam formerly resided here and was engaged on dredges on various parts of the West Coast
There was a good attendance at the Reefton Bowling CMb’s pavilion on Wednesday evening when a social evenin'? was held to farewell Mr E. Collier, who is leaving in a few days for the south. Mr C. J. Wiliis, president, occupied tha chair. He greatlyregretted that they were losing such a prominent member and was sure
that h e would remember with much pleasure the happv hours spent on the Reefton green. He then asked Mr Collier to accept a parcel of goods as an appreciation of members of his services to the club. The chairman’s remarks were endorsed by several other members. In replying, Mr Collier thanked members for the pjf>-. He was leaving for an out-of-the-way place, but would not forget his happy residence in Reefton. He however, hoped to be able to return to Reefton at no very distant date. Music, song and stories were contr> buted by members, who spent a mosr.' enjoyable evening.
