CANADA’S CONCERN
At Singapore’s Fall
(Rec. 7.50.) OTTAWA, Feb. 16. The first secret session of the Canadian House of Commons since the last war will be held this week, probably on Thursday. It is to discuss Canada’s coastal defences and other matters pertaining to the Canadian war effort. The Premier, Mr Mackenzie King, told the House that the Government had intended holding a secret session at a later date, but the fall of Singapore had raised a general demand for an immediate secret session. Mr Mackenzie King declared in the House of Commons that Canada will be represented at the Pacific War Council in London should its discussions be extended to cover the whole of the Pacific Area. GOVERNOR INTERNED. (Rec. 10.0.,) LONDON, Feb. 17. Private advice has been received in London that Sir Shenton Thomas (Governor) and his wife; are being interned in Singapore.
