GOLDMINING
There was no wash-up last week at the Blackball Creek dredge. The gold returns for January are as follows:— Battery Department: 63 ozs. 16 dwts. of melted gold frpm 120. tons of ore crushed. Estimated value £490. Concentrates: In addition to the above. 2.5 tons of concentrates were saved, valued at £6O. Argo dredge return is 30 ounces for 124 hours from 13,000 yards ' ■ Alexander Mines returns for January are: The battery obtained- 630 z 16dwts of melted gold from 120 tons of ore crushed, the value being £490. Cyanide department has not been cleaned up. There was 2.5 tons of concentrates saved, valued at £6O.
