Australian Attempts TO RAISE IT AGAIN (Rec. 7.0) SYDNEY. November 19. The Returned Soldiers’ League at - its Federal conference in Brisbane,/! decided to embark on an Australianwide conscription campaign. The League wants Australia to conscript, all industries, manpower and wealth.ri immediately. A move, planned -by' some returned soldiers and Opposi-. tion members in the Federal Senate, ■ to force the Government’s hand on the conscription of manpower for: overseas service is expected in Canberra in the next few days. It is ex-' pected an attempt will bp made to.amend the National Security- Act by . deleting- the clause which forbids the" Government to 'jmiQve compulsory, service for overseas. The Opposition', has a majority in the Senate, but if ' an amendment were passed there it . would have to go to the House of Representatives, where the Govern-1 ment'has two of a majority, the Independents, Messrs Wilson and Coles. In South Australia, an Australian War Service League has been form--< ed. Its aims are conscription of manpower, womanpower and wealth,., and all other resources. :
