ASSAM’S £65,000 FOR ’PLANES. 8.0.W. • RUGBY, October 10. A further £5,000 from the Assam War Fund, acknowledged by the Minister of Aircraft Production, Lieutenant-Colonel J. T. C. MoorBrabazon, brings Assam’s total to £65,000. The province has now given eight fighters and one bomber. A gift for different purposes comes from the employees of a laundry in the West Country. It is £lO towards making a 2,000-lb. “backroom bomb” to give some German laundry a taste of what they themselves have experienced.
