8.0.W. RUGBY, October 6. The raising of a thousand million pounds in the war savings campaign, was celebrated by a luncheon given by the Chancellor of the Exechequer. A message from the King, congratulating the committee of the savings campaign, was read in which His Majesty recalled that 18 months ago, he sent a message on the occasion of the first hundred million being completed.
