INVERCARGILL, October 7. Nearly 4000 more sacks of oysters were taken from Foveaux Strait this season, which ended Tuesday, than last. The figures are 71,215 sacks -or 1941 and 67,482 J sacks for 1940 There were 12 trawlers in the fleet this year. The numbre of oysters taken exceeded fifty-five and a half millions. WELLINGTON, October 8. The following air casualty was announced to-day:— Sergeant Samuel J'ames Luke, R.N.Z.A.F., dead through drowning. Mother Mrs S. Luke, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga.
