NORWAY SABOTAGE - LONDON, October 7. Owing to repeated attempts to destroy the railways at Oslo, Eidsvold Oso, and Kongsvinger, the German Security Police have decreed that all men between 21 and 25 in the communes along the railways must report for watching the lines. Anyone refusing will be tried by the German Courts. Guards on stretches on which sabotage occurs will be handed over to the Germans for severe sentences. The Oslo Council is replacing all teachers and civil servants with Quislingites. All literature unsympathetic to Nazism will be publicly burned. The Stockholm “Sociial Demokraten” reports that 2000 political prisoners are already in Norwegian concentration camps, but the Germans are establishing three more to accommodate newly-arrested persons. A Rome decree prescribes death for anyone in the annexed territories participating in a revolt, attempting to assassinate Italian officials, sabotagng or pillaging. CZECHS TERRORISED Heydrich has decreed the closure of synagogues in Bohemia and Moravia. He has also threatened the arrest of Czechs talking to Jews in the streets, because this expressed an anti-German attitude. The German spokesman said that Elias’s execution was postponed because his evidence was necessary in other cases. Twenty-seven more residents of Prague have been sentenced to death. BULGARIANS SLAY GREEKS “The Times” Istanbul correspondent states that the Bulgarians in Greece ruthlessly massacred thousands of Greeks. The Greek resistance was mainly passive, which infuriated the Bulgars, who exaggerated the disturbances as an excuse for wiping out the Greeks.
